Increasing and decreasing the size of text within web pages
Helpful information about changing text size for easier viewing.


If you prefer the font size on the pages to be larger or smaller you can control the font size
as most browsers allow you to change the size of the font displayed on the screen.
 
     


 


Windows Users


Internet Explorer Version 5.5 and later versions
Five font size options (largest, larger, medium, smaller, and smallest). Medium is the default size.

You change font size by:
selecting 'View' from the menu bar, and,
selecting 'Text Size' then, select the size you want from the "menu".

Or:


Press and hold the 'Alt' key, then simultaneously type 'V' and 'X',
then release 'Alt' key, select the size you want from the menu

*Note: The current font size selected will remain in effect until you change the settings again.

Firefox
Supports the increase or decrease of font sizes throught the use of shortcut keys.

To increase the displayed font size:
Hold down the 'Ctrl' key and press the '+' key.  => Font size will increase.
If you want to further increase the font size, continue to press the '+' (plus) key while simultaneously pressing the 'Ctrl' key.

To decrease the displayed font size:
Hold down the 'Ctrl' key and press the '–' key.  => Font size will decrease.
If you want to decrease the size further simply continue to press the '–' (minus) key while still holding down the 'Ctrl' key.

*Note: The selected font size will remain in effect until you exit Firefox.

Macintosh Users


Safari
Supports the increase or decrease of font sizes throught the use of shortcut keys.

To increase the displayed font size:
Hold down the 'Command' key and press the '+' (plus) key.  => Font size will increase.
If you want to further increase the font size, continue to press the '+' key while simultaneously pressing the 'Command'key.

To decrease the displayed font size:
Hold down the 'Command' key and press the '–' (minus) key.  => Font size will decrease.
If you want to decrease the size further simply continue to press the '–' key while still holding down the'Command' key.

*Note: The selected font size will remain in effect until you exit Safari.

Firefox
Supports the increase or decrease of font sizes throught the use of shortcut keys.

To increase the displayed font size:
Hold down the 'Command' key and press the '+' key.  => page size will zoom in .
If you want to further increase the overall page size, continue to press the '+' (plus) key while simultaneously pressing the 'Command' key.

To decrease the displayed font size:
Hold down the 'Command' key and press the '–' key.  => page size will zoom out .
If you want to decrease the page size further simply continue to press the '–' (minus) key while still holding down the 'Command' key.

*Note: The selected zoom size will remain in effect until you exit Firefox.
